agroVet GmbH offers quality assurance systems based on private-law guidelines to ensure that meat and meat products can be traced to Austria. Such inspection programs cover production processes in slaughterhouses and cutting plants as well as all manufacturing processes used in processing plants in the meat processing sector.
The aim is to guarantee the certainty of the Austrian origin of beef, veal, pork and poultry, meaning that all livestock must be born, raised, slaughtered, cut and processed in Austria. Some of these requirements go beyond the current legal stipulations. The main concerns in this respect are that the product flow is fully transparent and that the origin is traceable at all times during the entire manufacturing process.
